Mouse -Problems and Troubleshooting

Mouse is not moving smoothly
o The main reason for this problem is dust accumulation
near moving parts.
o Remove the dust on the 2 Hardened Plastic Strips
below the Mouse.
o Clean the Roller Ball
o Open the Mouse and clean the Dust on the Horizontal and Vertical Mouse Rollers
o Clean the Horizontal and Vertical Sensors using cotton dipped with IPA.
Note: Instruct the customer to use a Mouse pad and keep the Desk clean.
Left Click or Right Click is not working
o Open the Mouse and drop IPA in the key and gently tap for 3, 4 times.

o Check the continuity of the Key using a Multimeter.
o If the Key is found faulty, replace the Key
No Horizontal movement is there in the Mouse / No Vertical movement is there
o The problem is due to dust in the Roller
corresponding to the movement. Clean it.
o Clean the Horizontal or Vertical sensor using cotton
dipped with IPA.
Mouse is not getting detected
o Check for loose connections of the Mouse connector
with the PC and fix it properly.
o Confirm whether the problem is on the PC side or Mouse side by swapping the
Mouse in a working PC.
o Open the Mouse and check the continuity of each wire of the Interface Cable.
o If found open or short, cut the cable at the Mouse side and check the continuity again.
(Generally, the cable cut is found near the twists inside the Mouse)
o If it is OK, solder the cable directly to the Mouse Connector.
o If the Cable continuity
